Good or Great Life?

This is a question that panged me for years. Before my son was born and still to this day. Growing up I witnessed the struggle of a single mother and I vowed to myself that I never wanted to go through that. Welp guess what happened..... yeah you guessed I went through it and still am in it. But the question "the good life or the great life" always found it's way to my front lobal consious. The good life was having a good job, decent car and living arrangements and being able to take care of myself and my son (been independent since I was 17). The great life to me was being my own boss, seeing the world, buying what I wanted. Basically doing what I wanted when I wanted however long I wanted to with no time or money restrictions.
